Logging in and cookies
Folks / John,
I didn't know where else to put this.
Am I the only one who has to login everytime I visit? Yes, I do have the option enabled to login automatically, but I have to enter my name and password everytime anyway. This started only recently, when the forum URL moved to where it is now.
Any suggestions?

Re: Logging in and cookies
I'm new to this forum, so I've had this problem from day one. I did verify that there are no cookies on my system originating from johnlsayers.com, so I have concluded the "stay signed in" option simply isn't depositing one.Am I the only one who has to login everytime I visit? Yes, I do have the option enabled to login automatically, but I have to enter my name and password everytime anyway. This started only recently, when the forum URL moved to where it is now.
I can't offer you a solution, but I wanted to let you know that you're not the only one.

Ethan - are you logging into johnlsayers.com or homer.com.au??
We had to shift it over to johnlsayers and turn off homer.
You should be logging into
http://johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/index.php
let me know if it still isn't working
cheers

Like Lee, that's where I log in too. When you moved recently, I changed the URL I click. I'm using IE6 with cookies enabled. It worked at the old URL, but not at this current one.
I hope this helps you know who to yell at.
Thanks.

Loggin on
The login problem is to do with cookies and the cookie may be sensitive to a change in the base domain I made recently ( www.johnlsayers.com now rather than previously under my www.homer.com.au. I've set the cookie domain to specifically point to www.johnlsayers.com so could anyone having problems here try again - By looking at Tools -> Internet Options -> Temporary Inetrnet File-Settings -> View Files, you'll be able to see your cookies. There should be one from www.johnlsayers.com which contains your session information.
Hope this helps - let me know

Peter,

I have several cookies from www.johnlsayers.com and I'm still having the problem. Should I look for a particular cookie? Should I read the text inside one or more cookies and tell you what's in them? I'll be happy to help any way I can to get this fixed.
Thanks.
