ESS Control room

Post by Xspringe »

Anyone here have any experience with designing/building a control room based on the ESS principle?

How did you feel the room sounded compared to a standard LEDE control room?

Edit: for people wondering what ESS is: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1997_ar ... rooms.html

I've seen that link before - I don't agree with his history of control room design to start with and I don't go along with his theories either.

To me the theory seemed quite sound, but the practical details were rather vague.

What is it you did not agree with regared the theories in that article?

I really don't want to get into acoustic arguments only to say that I prefer a direct soundfield to a reflective diffuse one.

Alright, that's too bad, I would've loved to hear some counter arguments to his theories.
