Hi all
I'm sure this has been asked a million times but my search has come up empty so...
Is there a way to determine the relationship between frequencies absorbed and distance (2'X4' 703) panels are hung/suspended from walls/ceilings?
Thanks in advance
Don

I read somewhere on this forum or the one at homerecording.com that it's a good idea to space the panel away from the wall or ceiling the same distance as the panel is thick. So, a panel that's 3" thick would be placed 3" from the wall/ceiling for good broadband absorption. Targeting specific frequencies is more likely a job for a slot resonator. I'm not sure. Somebody who knows the science of it all will hopefully chime in so, you and I both can know some more on the subject.

Yes, and that's originally from my Acoustics FAQ:
