Hello...
I am in the process of building bass traps like the ones described by Ethan Winer (http://www.ethanwiner.com/basstrap.html).
His blueprints call for a caulk sealant in order to make the enclosure air tight. My question is this: Can I go to Lowes and get any silicon-based sealant, or should I pony up the cash for some StopGap (http://www.auralex.com/acoustic_sealant ... topgap.asp) or QuietSeal (http://www.quietsolution.com/Products/C ... lants.html)?
My budget will likely allow for me to purchase the higher priced sealants, but if they don't help much more than what I can get from Lowes, why spend the extra cash?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As explained in the article:
--EthanBe sure to use a high-quality silicon-based caulk--the kind that is guaranteed to never dry out.

Thanks!
Ethan:
Thank you for your response. I know my question was somewhat redundant, but considering I know absolutely nothing about building things, I needed to make damn sure I was doing the right thing.
I placed an order today for some tubes of OCI SC-175 acoustic sealant. As far as I know, that should take care of the problem.
