Which Bass trap

Hi all i want to buy 2 bass traps for my two front corners,
ive already put 4 in the two back eathns design but i just dont feel
secure cause i made them myself (no offense on you ethan )

id just like some that i know are working.

here are some links to some ive found but im most interested in the primacoustics ones as i can affoard 4 of them.

What makes you think that the ones you built aren't working?? play something loud in your room and put your hand on the front panel - you should feel it vibrating - thus it's working. Ethan??

A couple of points:

As John said, it's not difficult to verify that wood panel traps are working. Besides feeling the panels for vibration as you play music, you can also pound (gently!) on the front panels as you feel around all the edges for air spurting out. That tests that the traps are air-tight.

Foam corners are okay, but they're not as effective at low frequencies as panel traps. Even fiberglass mounted across the room corners works much better than foam, and it's impossible to screw that up!

Yes, the Modex Corner is a real bass trap. I agree it's awfully expensive considering how small it is and thus how many you'd need.

i wish i could buy your traps ethan but with shipping it would cost too much

at the moment the 4 rear traps are covered with rockwool and cloth so i cant move them but im sure there seeled as i used a lot of caulk/silicone and pinned them every inch.

id just like a ready made solution that in my head i dont have to worry about "is it workin etc.."

do you reckon rockwool stuffed in the corner a foot out each side would be more effective than foam?

how low would the rockwool absorb (its 50mm rigid). it would give an overall dept of 12"(i think) and 18" across the front and 8' high

Yes, rigid fiberglass/rockwool always outperforms foam for a given amount of material.

It will absorb down to 2 Hz.

That's a joke, but not untrue. The question is not how low does it absorb, but rather how much does it absorb at a given frequency. The answer depends on the material thickness and density, and the size of the air gap.
