Bass Trap question
Hi, I just completed my new house and home studio and am needing acoustical treatment. The room is sort of rectangular, so I think I probably need as much acoustical treatment as I can fit. I am currently putting up 3' x 3.5'x3" panels of rockwool which seem to be working well. I also have 50 blocks of 6"x6"x40" rockwool that would fit great in the wall/wall and wall/ceiling corners. Would those 6"x6"x40" columns be effective at bass trapping with no air gap behind them. I have enough to put in every possible corner, and would like to use these if I can. Any comments or ideas appreciated.

To my understanding 6"x6" columns in the corners are too small to influence low frequency. As experiments show - the more the better.
To see how much treatment CAN be fitted in rectangular room check my thread:

I started by"few small" bales of fiberglass, then found out that bigger ones work better, then that rocwool is better, later that rocwoll of 3pcf is even better, and finally that HUGE amounts of rockwool is better than just rockwool

Lows sound really nice and consistent. But I've created another problem for myself (or actually shifted the old one) - I lifted the monitors and now have perfect narrow & deep null caused by comb filtering at ~600 Hz. So back to drawing board
I will post update some time this week showing new desk. Also design of "decombifiers".
