Bluefield Wiring Plan (WIP)

Post by dbluefield »

Hello all!

Aaron came down to Atlanta a few weeks back to help me with my wiring plans and install.

If people are interested, I can try to document the ongoing progress as I wire my studio together.

The wiring will consist of connecting a Trident 80C with a Radar 24, 24 live Room mics, 8 CR mics (all hard wired to tuchels -- ie no mic ties in the patchbay, Headphone distribution (Constant Voltage/High Impedance style), TT patchbay to ADC punchblocks for outboard, plus various connects such as XLR - XLR from CR to LR and Speakons for re-amping etc..

Here's a screenshot of the plan I'm working on. A little hard to read - not sure if I can post pdf. files?

Let me know if there is interest and I can post more as the plan/work commences.

Best,

Dave :D

Here's the radar schematic - will be 6 30' cables db25 - tuchel , 3 balanced 8 for IN, 3 balanced 8 for OUT. This was based on Aaron's original rendering.

This shows one of the drawings of 6.

I see I can post pdf's. The whole plan was too large

Anyhow..here's how the constant voltage headphone distribution is shaping up

There's nothing more exciting than a wiring up Tuchel connectors. Almost as much fun as a Jones plug I guess.

Dave,

Pin 1 is always Shield. Check your XLR pinout on the cue system.

Send me a copy of those diagrams, I can't read half of it on the pic. All blury...

Lookin' good though. :D

The headphone distribution is drawn wrong, as Aaron pointed out.

Thanx Aaron!

It should read pin1 common, pin2 left, pin 3 right,
to correspond with proco's HJ-4P pinout.

Best,

Dave

Now onto choosing connectors and wire...looks like its going to be Gepco
...for the wire..p
robably work on the radar harness..first...then onto the mic panels.
