Fiberglass, Rockwool, ... in Belgium

Hi there,

I'm from Belgium and I'm looking for acoustical fiberglass or rockwool.
I've found www.rockwool.be, and would choose "Bouwplaat 201 Vario" (http://www.rockwool.be/graphics/rws-bnl ... Vlaams.pdf)
But I can't find acoustical absorption coëfficients, or density values in kg/m³ (or I am not looking good enough

)

Can somebody tell me if this would be a good material choice for placing 4" (10cm) thick panels on the walls (spaced 4" from the wall).

Any help on some denser material for the corner bass traps would be wellcome (if possible with one layer FRK to face the room)

Other brands I'm not aware of are also welcome.

Look here:
Rockfon is the acoustic division of Rockwool

You find anything you need here including addresses of dealers, measurement data etc.

This are industrial and finished boards.

I can assure you they cover anything you possibly need.

201 is a rather low densitity board (should have to check) but makes part of another division.

I checked out that Rockfon site, very useful.
A lot of available options, but since I want it to absorp as much as possible (I guess :p) I would choose for "Rockfon Facett"

Looks like it has nice absorption coëfficients, and A1 fireclass.

Would it be ok to wrap those panels in some fabric, white is not what I was going for :-p
That is if the acoustic properties don't suffer from it.

Somebody also mentioned that Knauf TPT01 (http://www.knauf.be/DB/pdf/therm._tpt01_nl.pdf) should be something like Owens Corning 703, but I can't find the exact absorption coëfficients.
Any thoughts on this one ?

The Rockfon Facett would sure be the easiest, cleanest option, but I want the best results offcourse.

Trini,

In Belgium, following brands are the most common available:
Rock wool: The brand Rockwool with his acoustic division Rockfon.
Glasfiber (glaswool): Isover from the Saint-Gobain group (the biggest here).
Less easy to find but as much choise in function of finished products: Eurocoustic which is also Rock wool and also belongs to the Saint-Gobain group.
PAROC from Partec = rock wool = Finnish but imported here and LOTS of choises.

I have less experience with Knauf here.

The easiest accessible products with decorative choises are the Rockfon products. That's why I advice them for small quantities.
The best is to visit one of the distributors to get a feeling for the available choise.

Eurocoustic has standard Wall panels too with fire safe decorative fabric, which are very nice for corner absorption.
The advantage is that they are room heigh in one piece.

Just giving some thoughts.
I can only give ideas, not making choises for you, because that all depends what you want to obtain.

For small jobs it can be efficient to cover boards with fabric.
But we have a lot of finished materials too with lots of surface choises. And by definition they are all fire safe.
Take into account that lot of those measurements you see there are tiles on a cavity.
Belgium has in lots of areas stricter fire safe codes than the surrounding countries, which is why one doesn't find much glassfiber based suspended ceilings in Belgium. They do not fulfill our fire codes for official buildings.
I agree that's overdone, but those codes result from a calamity in the 50ties if recalling correct where lots of people died.

PS: there are other brands than mentioned here too.

One of the biggest dealers in Belgium for Rockfon = Wille in Mouskroen.
They have lots of demonstration rooms which give you an idea how those tiles look.
And they have several trucks a week driving through the whole of Belgium.

I have no commercial interest in whichever, I just give some ideas.

EDIT:
Those Facet boards you refer to are finished products.
They are not meant to be covered with whatever, but to be used as they are.

Me again

I checked out a lot of options, and want to go for Rockwool.
But I'm still wandering between these two:

I spoke somebody from Rockwool on the phone, and he said
Rockfit 434

But that document doesn't really show absorption coëfficients (other then 25db at 125Hz and 43db at 4000Hz, or is this ok ?)

I've found this other one:
