Want to start my construction paints, i need a short help!

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Hello Members!

I will start to paint down my Vocal booth, but there is upcoming the follow Question:

Wich Framesize is usable?

A) from Floor to Ceiling

B) from left to right

It was nice you can give me the Size in Meter, so i doesen´t must convert it or make some Mistakes...

And the next little Question is:

C) The angeled Walls have 90 Degrees, wich Degree should be use to make non parallel Walls?

The Room isn´t very large and too much Degrees will cost me a lot of usable Space!

Now the Last Question for the Ceiling Design:

D) Wich Degrees are prefered an must it an symetric design have?

The Room have 2,20m x 2,80m, the ceiling is a little more than 2,60m!

If there anyone how want to paint a Scratch there will be found a Picture in the "Design Forum".

Thanks a lot!

Jasmin

“Wich Framesize is usable? “ -

I think you mean what size is each part of the frame? If so, and you are using wood frame, you would use 37mm x 90mm frame timbers. For best isolation, you should find a supplier of Resilient Channel, or RSIC-1 clips and “hat channel” - this is an example of Resilient Channel -

This is one (non-Euro) source for RSIC clips -

One or the other of these should be used on ONE side ONLY of your booth walls for best isolation - please read through the REFERENCE section for more info on wall construction methods.

Angled walls - your room is too small to waste ANY space doing this - I think you’d be better to just put some 50 or 75mm rockwool batts on the walls and ceiling to absorb most of the problems that are caused by parallel walls.

Ceiling - yours is low already; I would just build a “cloud” over your mix area - if you search for the word “cloud” and read a few of the results, you will get an idea of how to do this -

I’m answering this without net access so I can post it later, sorry if I didn’t answer well enough; if you need more, ask and I’ll try again when I’ve got net access… Steve
