diffusors

Post by foolio »

Hello everybody. I have an idea for a diffusor area to put in my roof but I don't know much about diffusion or acoustics at all. So I hope somebody can tell me if this thing would work.

I am planning to cut up different lengths of pieces from wood bolts (I don't know if it's the right word) that is 4,5 cm wide. And then saw different angles to the top f all the pieces and attach them beside eachother with a bit of variation to plywoodboards and nail them in the roof.

I don't know wich materials that are important or what meassures should be considered but I hope someone can tell me.. but I think this looks pretty much like what the acoustic companys are selling.

Sounds like you're trying to recreate a Skyline type diffusor - the real ones have each section calculated as one of a series of prime numbers, but doing a random height thing can work OK - if your room's pretty small though, you're usually better off with absorption instead... Steve
