Smallest Studio in the world with the biggest limitations!

Post by alixir »

Hi! I heard that it is possible to get a good sound in a small space somewhere. I have a room that's 10 foot by 8 foot, unfortunately I can only use 4 foot by 8 foot of it! I read somewhere that hanging curtains would make a good division whilst also making the sound in the compartment a bit more dead and less relflective. I was thinking of buiding a hanging curtain rig with curtains as the usual four walls and ceiling. The other problem I have is that my alesis m1 active mark 2's can only sit a maximum of 8 inches from the back wall and are in a horizontal position due to the silicon filled stands for them I have. The rest of my kit sits on an 8 foot long heavily constructed MDF table. Should I forget this curtain scenario and use the whole room or not!!!! The rest of the room encompasses some furniture and the ceiling is 11 foot tall.
