Custom Studio Build

Post by MarconeMusic »

Hi,

Just curious about some design ideas for my custom studio.

I have a free and open space to build on. Bought a nice building downtown.

Just wondering about a shape and whether it will result in a decently useful environment for mixing.

I will be mounting some Urei 813 Speakers, I have an SSL 4048 as my mixing board.

Height is limited to approx 8 feet, up to a max of 9 feet. (bottom of trusses of building and construction materials of room plus isolators will leave me at around 8-9 feet ish)
Room will be approx 19' wide and 23 long.

The room will be floating and triple drywalled inside, with an isolation wall outside of that dividing the control room to live room.

Does the shape lend to decent control? I dont think ill have reflection issues and such. but bass?

Lemme know!

Yes, that's OK - just remember the 813's are very large, will they fit?

cheers

I'd suggest ray tracing your room to ensure you have an RFZ sphere around your head not only on the horizontal plane but the vertical plane as well.

It appears that you've made the mistake most people do. You started building without consulting this forum.

Awesome. Thank you.

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier. I didn’t get a notification. Must be a setting somewhere.
