Genuine Zero International automatic door bottom/threshold?

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Genuine Zero International automatic door bottom/threshold?

Post by Cinematic6436 »

Hi everyone --

Following the good advice posted in numerous places in this forum, I purchased a Zero International automatic door bottom and threshold. The weird thing is, the site I bought them from has no mention of the Zero International name. I'm probably just being paranoid, but I'm wondering if they're genuine products. Of course, I asked the seller before I even placed the order, and he said they are, but I'm still a bit hesitant because I can't understand why anyone would leave out what is clearly an important selling point. I've also left out the name of the store, because I'd feel bad publicly questioning the business ethic of what could very well be a reputable seller.

I've attached several picture of my purchases, a 36" 367 ABD and a 36" 564 threshold. If anyone out there could tell me if you notice anything out of the ordinary that conflicts with what you know about these products, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

They look pretty genuine to me. The automatic door closer looks the same as mine (I got mine from a distributor recommended to me by Zero themselves). I have a slightly different seal type, but the bar looks the same.

I haven't used the threshold myself, so I'm not sure if there's a problem with that, but it looks fine to me.

Stay up at night reading books on acoustics and studio design, learn Sketchup, bang your head against a wall, redesign your studio 15 times, curse the gods of HVAC silencers and door seals .... or hire a studio designer.

I'll reach out to Zero to confirm, so thanks for that suggestion. Did your items have anything printed on them anywhere that said Zero International? Mine were both bare. And the instructions that came with them were also generic, which I thought was unusual. But again, maybe I'm just overthinking this whole thing...

Edit: I heard back from Zero. They're the real deal.
