For the baffle i’ll use 19mm chipboard and i was thinking on gluing laminated floor on it for aesthetics. I suppose I’m fine with it, right?
I also have 30mm chipboard available for the baffle... should I better use that instead to provide more mass?

That would be fine, and could look quite neat. But I would put more mass on the baffle. A single sheet of 19mm isn't much mass.

Use the highest density material you can find, and make it as thick as you can afford, within reason. MDF is more dense than chipboard, for example. Two sheets of 19mm MDF would be a good start, but more is better.

And one more thing... sorry.

It's about the monitor stand for each soffit. I don't know if to attach (means to screw) the speaker stands to the floor (concrete slab) would be a compromise... or maybe it's better to install four spikes to the base of the stand and leave the contact to the floor to a minimum?

I could buy MDF for the baffles, as I wrote last night, but I've done some research and I think I will stick to chipboards anyways (because I already have them!)


Chipboard is about 600-680kg/m3
MDF is about 500-850 kg/m3

A little graphic update. The framing is not fully finished

Front of the CR with the baffle structure and framing of side walls.
There will be bass traps over each door.

I placed two bookshelves inside the bass trap framing on the back of the CR... until the hangers are ready.

We built two 18cm thick gobos on wheels that will normally be hidden inside the side bass traps on the rear of the room. They can be slid and placed in front of the door, covering the glass panes when mixing.
