Building a sound wall with windows

Hi!

I started to build a sound wall but than it was put on halt. Now its time to start again.
As you can see in the picure there are struts in the right. On the right side i will put doors. On the left side i will build a wall with window. Its prepared for double wall design. The opening that is going to become a wall is 1.15meter wide.

Is it better to put a small window into the wall or can i put one that is 1.15meter wide? Than i need to build a wall above en belove the window. I cant drill in the floor so my plan was to use steel joist and glow them with a strong construction glue to the floor.

Is there a kind and knowledgeable person out there that guide me? I need to bounce ideas so that I dare to go ahead and start building. I do not want to build and then tear it all down again. I want it to attenuate as good as possible.

You can do it either way. Glass is very heavy, especially the thick laminated glass that you will need for that application, so it will isolate well.

I cant drill in the floor

Then you can't build a wall! It's that simple. In most places around the world, the building codes and regulations state all walls must be mechanically anchored to the floor. Even if you have floor-to-ceiling glass, you still need to anchor the frame to the floor. I doubt that glue would be an approved method for doing that.

Check with your local municipality to find out what is required by code, and what you can and cannot do.
