Large hall...How to make it smaller to record drums in?

Post by Marcel Petric »

Hello guys, my name is Marcel and I'm new to this forum.I have a question regarding drum recording and acoustics.I have a large working hall next to my house owned by my grandfather. It's rarely in use (about one week per two months). It's 15x10 metres long and wide, ceiling is 3,4 metres tall with wooden ceiling and oak hardwood floors.A great room indeed :). The problem is that it's to big and spateous for recording drums (unless your going for that huge 80s sound, which I'm not :)). How do I make it smaller or at least reduce the reverb and delay in the room? I need something portable and temporary so I can set it up only when I record and then remove it so that it doesen't get in the way when people come to work in the hall. Any ideas would be much aprecciated.
I will add photos in about an hour.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there! There is an announcement at the top of the forum about what to do to assure getting as many responses as possible.
The announcement leads to this post (click here). Actually, several people, who are experts on this forum, will most likely not reply if you don't do what is written in that post. Many others who are very helpful, will most likely not reply out of respect for the moderators' wishes.
