Can't add an image as before

I tried to add an updated jpeg to my thread using the same method as the day before but now I get the following error message "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.". I tried many variations of size, re-saving, bitmap format, etc. Can anybody help?

yes George - the site went down - it was me trying to fix the image posting problem

Fortunately my web provider has constant backup so we rolled back a day.
