Friend hopes to make this odd room a little DAW station-

A good friend of mine just moved into a new spot. He only has the option of setting his gear up in this one space. He writes electronic music, so lets only concern ourselves with getting the best out of what we have. Don't even worry about "isolation" because he simply doesn't have the budget. He is well aware of needing to work in headphones during "non 9-5" times. It is in the far corner of a basement, that alone is about the only isolation he will have. Sheetrock is not coming down, and no energy will be spent on new doors, or sealing receptacles. (I wish, its a rental, and my friend doesn't have the $$$)

The dimensions should be fairly accurate. The ceiling is 8'. As you can see, the major problem is that the room is not a rectangle. I have red Gervais book, yet I can't claim to understand where to start with a space like this.

It is essentially a small bedroom with its own GIANT bathroom. The dark flooring is the bathroom.. it is actually raised up about 12.5" (same ceiling height), or two stairs. Very odd, must have something to do with the basement floor under it.

Both floorings are actually the same linoleum tile.. I altered the color to show the different rooms. Their isn't a door between the room and bathroom, which is why I'm including it in the dimensions. So the lighter tile is stuck directly to the concrete, and the "dark" tile appears to be on a wooden framed sub-floor.

The walls are typical framed/sheetrock walls (with concrete or stone foundation behind 3 of the 4 walls). The ceiling is sheetrock into the main floor-joists.

I'm simply wondering where you guys might place the workstation desk and monitors. From their I ought to be able to use the book to estimate some treatment (lots of bass traps!!) and then take some measurements with my microphone.
