Garage floor - Paint or Carpet?

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Garage floor - Paint or Carpet?

Post by thedeadzeds »

Hi Guys,

I'm literally in the final stages of completing the studio. I have to say I completed a test the other day and its seems to be working really well. So first I would like to thank Stuart and all others for their help. There is no way I could have done this without this forum. Can I just check something as I have searched here and found mixed reviews. I cant really afford to laminate the garage concrete floor so I'm either going to paint the floor or carpet as I have old carpet from the house. Which is the best option? My third option would be to buy the below which is rubber inter locking floor.

Many thanks

Out of the three I would use an epoxy based paint. If you find later on that you are getting interference from the hard surface under a microphone you can always get an area rug to help for that area.
