Bass Trap Hangers..

Post by LDQ »

Hi John,

Will the hangers still work if they are covered with cloth. I know...usually they are not visible so it is not nesesary but in the case they are visible would it work or not?

Cheers,

luis.

The cloth is not necessary, it's purely cosmetic - in fact you can cover each hanger individually with cloth so they can be seen. I envision a whole ceiling done in a rainbow effect - but I'm an old hippy anyway :D

You know...If I had the ceiling height I would probably do the same...I bet it will look really cool..

Depending on how my (live) studio sounds...I might put a couple on one corner...maybe a moveable one.

Cheers,

Luis.

Hi John,

In regards to the control room back wall bass hangers....is there any benefit in puting 703 / cloth in front of them, instead of just cloth?

Would putting the 703 in the front increase the absortion or would it be over kill...since the hangers already have dacron insulation plus the back and side walls have 4" rockwool.

My thinking is that the low frequencies will go pass the 703 and then some of the reflected low freq from the back and side walls will be absorved bye the hangers...and some by the 703 since it is lifted from the wall.

Let me know. :?: :?:

Regards,

Luis.

I think it would be overkill Luis - the hangers with their insulation should be enough.

Well, last week, posession of under 30 grams was prohibited... In our House of Commons, the Government has been discussing changing the law so that under 30 grams would get you a ticket, not a criminal record. In other words, decriminalization of small amounts. However it would still be illegal.

However, an Ontario superior court judge ruled in a small posession case last Friday that the law in it's current form is unconstitutional. Thereby voiding the law and legalizing pot. The Feds are planning to appeal, but I don't think they're going to win, considering our own Senate recommended legalization.

Many would consider me to be a right wing facist (I hate taxes, eh!).... but even I know that the "war on drugs" is a complete waste of time. Let's face it: The war has been fought, and the drugs won. Maybe the world's governments should start treating their citizens like adults for a change... and focus on more productive things: like killing terrorists.
