Hi!
Looks like we are at the same stages in similar rooms, do you have any specs/drawings of what you plan to do in your room.
I'm doing a decoupled two leaf system, my control/live room is going to be 16x14x8' 2" RFZ design.
Just finished my beefup and built my first wall last night!

Thank you very much Allen.
I never thought caulking the joints would take that long
I'm still debating on the design, RFZ design or just a regular room and just add corner traps etc.

Re: D&A Studio: Basement one room studio contruction
Completed second layer of 5/8 drywall between ceiling joists this weekend and now started applying acoustic sealant caulking again. Next step would be to install drywall at both ends between ceiling joist for isolation to side rooms. Still trying to figure out how to do that. I'm able to screw drywall to the center beam but not sure if I need brackets on top and sides for better support or its not needed, it will be small pieces so maybe it wont. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Finally finished caulking the second layer of drywall(brutal....
). Now installing cleats, I'm putting spacers before the cleats that way it doesn't put any pressure on the caulking, i'm sure it doesn't make a difference but makes me feel better

Some progress with inner wall frame and new 2X8 beams in between original beams, about 1.5 inches below.

Thank you very much Stuart.
Stuart, I will do the method where you recommended for ducting: "Another way is to break the wooden "duct" in the middle of the wall, leaving a gap, and wrap that gap with rubber (Neoprene, EPDM, Sorbothane, etc.) That way, you don't need to worry about isolating the duct and register from the inner leaf: each part of the duct can be attached to its own leaf, and the rubber decouples them."
Question: would 1/2 inch neoprene wrapped around twice making it 1 inch of rubber ok? and is 1 inch gap between the ducts sufficient?
Thank you.

1/2" should be fine: there's pretty good mass and resilience with that, but of course two wraps to get 1" would be better for the mass, if you don't mind the extra cost.
