Studio design from office space

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

Studio design from office space

Post by bubs4390 »

Hi there everyone :) I was wondering if I could please get some help in designing a studio? I have the building design and structure and all the measurements+noise from outside. I am wanting to turn this space into a a recording studio for instrumentalists (vocalists and bands). I have tried to put all the info into the Picture that i will post, but if there is anything that is left out, please forgive me, i am a newb :P thanks so much for the help guys :D It would be awesome if it could have a recepitonist office newar the front door, a bathroom/shower area and a very small kitchen also incorporated into the building. I am looking for just a straight and simple live room and control room/mixing room. Thanks :)

Hi There "bubs4390", and welcome! :)

It seems like you are looking for a full studio design service, rather than the normal "self-help" function of the forum, so it would probably be better if you contacted John directly, or one of the other moderators or designers who post here, to ask for a quote.

You seem to have a nice space there, and what you are looking for is probably doable, with a good design. Plus, you are on the ground floor, which makes things a lot easier, so this can work out quite well.
