Hi All,
Hope all is good out there.
With the help of Stuart (soundman2020) on this forum in reply to an earlier post my wife and i have spent the last week constructing our spare room into a studio control room.
To refresh, here is the room as it stood before treatment, as well as the dimensions :-
And here are the original REW readings :-
The first thing we did was to build 6 superchunk basstraps. We constructed the frames out of chipwood (cut into triangles of 60 x 60 x 80 cm) and broom handles. They were each just over 1 meter high :-
We then used some 10cm thick rockwool panels, cut into triangles to fit inside the frame (we used ten of these) :-
To finish these, we covered then in cotton fabric :-
As for the floor. It had a very resonant sound to it so we first covered it in carpet :-
As advised by Stuart, we then covered this in some 16mm thick boards (Chip wood also) :-
After this, we attached the boards together and then we used some PVC tiles to cover :-
This created us a hard floor, and considerably treated the horrible, resonant sound that was there before.
The next thing to do was to build 9 panel absorbers. We did these based on both the size of the rockwool and also taking into account the size of the window and slant. Four (60 x 135cm (using 10 cm thick rockwall with a 2cm air gap behind, thus the panel was 12 cm deep) were to go on the side walls, two of the same dimensions to go on the ceiling as clouds, and three for the window plug and the slant (60 x 90cm).
We made the frames out of 10mm thick MDF :-
OK, over to part 2 as my attachment limit is reached.

You don't need to start another thread if you can't attach more photos. You can just add another post to the same thread.
