Another small studio design

Post by knmy »

Hello. I've been lurking around here for a few days and getting some ideas. First of all thanks for the info you have already provided.

I have a small room that will be my small corner studio of the world. I am having issue with a few things. As you can see in the picture I have a window on the right side wall almost butted up against the front wall. I am thinking of putting up velvet.. everyone... oooo, aaahh... curtains. I'm not sure what other contraption to put in that corner where the right speaker will be.
On the left side of the room I was thinking about putting Ethan's Mini-trap's there.
At the back of the room you can see I have an entrance door and then about 4 feet away a closet door. Not quite sure what to do with this area. According to SAE site's drawing of "The Bedroom Studio" I should put high absorbers there. Not sure, again, of what to do with that area since it is mostly door. Thanks in advance for help with this.

Ken - the most cost effective system would be to get some sheets of 703 type rigid fibreglass and mount them on the front and rear walls.

Thanks for the reply back. You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on the matter. How big of pieces and how many are we talking about mounting on the front and rear walls? Should the doors be left alone? Thanks again John.

You can cover the doors with the 703 as well. How deep is the cupboard.??

measurement

Post by knmy »

Hello John. The measurement is 23 inches deep. My drawing is a little deceiving. The closet is 51 1/4" wide and the door out of the room is 35 1/4" wide. The space between the door and closet is about 32 inches. The rest to make 10 feet is next to the doors.

Thanks again,
Ken
