quality sliding glass doors

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

quality sliding glass doors

Who is using sliding glass doors in their studios, and where is a good source for STC50 doors. I have some leads, but need to compare options. Thanks.

Not sure on the STC rating - but they work well. I got 2 vinyl sliding glass doors from Lowes - they were around $300 each plus delivery (get delivery into your space - they weigh about 250lbs each)

What brand were they? Pella maybe?

I'm using 4 glass doors - 2 between the live room and the control room and 2 between the vocal booth and the control room - they are standard exterior vinyl sliding doors from Silver Line.

I just finished installing them today, and without any treatments in the rooms - and the doors not yet sealed with acoustic caulk it was very difficult to hear someone yelling.

My doors were 400/each delivered - I ordered them unassembled and put them together so it was easier to manage.

Riad - nice pics - looking good :D

I can relate to the photo of the fridge - it was a joyous day when I got the fridge in and could keep a well stocked supply of cold beer to hand!

I bought some that are double pane, different thicknesses of glass.
They're on my construction site here.
Carriage House Recording.

I can't say how well they work yet, 'cause I don't have all of them in.
