I'm just about to start building and I had a serious shock(non electrical) today. I was planning on installing an equitech wall system rated at 100amps... But I found out that these won't be available again until march-april. So, I've had to reconsider things a little bit. This is as best as I can figure out right now. Things may change when I hear back whether or not the building has 3 phase... But for right now, I am assuming we have single phase. I will know in a few days, as soon as we finalize our purchase. I already have 3 equitech 2q's, so understand that in my methodology. Step 1: Star ground and triangular 3 way ground rods Step 2: Take an 80 amp tap of the main panel. Take this 80 amps to subpanel. Step 3: Install isolation transformer between subpanel and branch outlets. Step 4: 3 equitech 2q's for control room. 2q for digital, 2q for analog rack gear and monitors, 2q for console, tape machine. Step 5: 2q for live room, 2q for iso rooms. That's as far as I can get. What are your thoughts on my addition of the isolation transformer? Are there any other companies besides equitech that sell just the balanced power transformer?... Meaning no breakers, no outlets. Just a balanced power transformer to be connected between main and sub panel. Any advice is greatly appreciated
