I happen to have 2, 24'' x 26'' 3/8" thick windows i was thinking of using for my drum room. however they aren't the laminate type Rod and many others on the forum discuss. Does normal glass resonate too much without the plastic core? or do you think these would be acceptable? The drum room is a double wall, staggered and insulated of course, with 2 layers of 5/8 drywall inside and one outside so far (possibly 2 if its not quite enough). thanks for your help. this forum is the perfect thing for aspiring studio owners such as myself.
with those size windows, as long as the glass is not in direct contact with the walls, the vibrations will probably be minimal. you could try to install them and see what happens. worst case, there are plastic clear laminates you can simply apply to the window which would add some dampening but will likely not be as clear to see through.
I'll try that, pretty much what i was planning on trying. thanks for the input. -Eric
