hi guys - i am trying to design a 2 room studio -- LR + CR in my garage ..see pics below...should I cut the garage in half evenly and use the 18' dimention as the length of the control room ..for example 18' x 14.5 for the CR 18' x 14.5 for the LR ?? I'm worried the CR wont be long enough -and that i wouldnt be utilizing the ceiling height...would it better to go the long way w / the control room ?? say 22' x 14' and sacrifice some LR space?? I am new at sketchup and cant seem to make it work...any suggestions? Details no floating floors -- adding mass in between the exterior studs--double walls -- green glue --etc etc . The garage is in my backyard nearest neighbors house is 15' away. The garage measures 12' x 18' x 29' ( H x W x L ) Concrete Slab -6" thick --I think it has rebar as the metal detector went nuts when I had it inspected Exterior is vinyl siding ----> plywood ----2 x 4 studs 16" on center Interior has exposed insulation in between studs - drywall on ceiling only ( 1 layer) screwed into rafter joists. Has a automatic garage door opener... It has electricity and a circuit breaker in the garage. Plug outlets on all walls. No HVAC .. I will record rock pop bands using AC30 's - Twins - SVT --occasional Marshall-- Drumset --Vocals --Lots of acoustic instruments --mando- banjo --fiddle--percussion My budget is 10K US
