frequency

hello, a known person from a friend came with a laptop and measured the frequency around my listening point, because i want to know if it could be improved. I noticed a light rolloff over the entire frequency spectrum and even more above 4khz. Is this absorption by air? Also there is a smaller problem at 360hz and 180hz. In the impulse view i noticed a strange little wave direct after the impulse. Is this normal...could it be a very short ER? In the ETC is see a heavy peak direkt after the impulse in the 500 to 1k range. could someone say more about interpreting this. Thx a lot

one thing jumps out - 100db... what type of room is this? what are the dimensions? existing treatments?
the room has the dimensions 6,50m x 5,10 x 2,65...all walls and the ceiling are angled (+/-15cm) in a symmetrical way. Yes the room is treated with absorber and diffusor. It was very difficult to find a good speaker position. Do you mean the peak @360hz? Is the ETC okay? thx
have you tried placing your seat position @ 38% of the length of the room (assuming the monitors are near the front wall)? and the monitors (and your ears) at somewhere betwen 38-42% of the room height? as a starting position, 38% of a given dimension has a low probability of being in a strong mode location. the 360hz could be either harmonically related to a lower frequency, or something could be resonating - a "chamber" formed by something, something loose, etc.
yesterday we measured again. We moved the microphone 10cm to the back of the room and the peak disappears. Is it recommended to measure at different points for example 10cm to every direction and than analyze the avarage data for an accurate impression of the frequency at the sweetspot? thx for your tips!!! Yes, the seat position is very close to that point. If we moved the speakers to close to the front wall we get some deep notches(nulls) @100hz or deeper.

It is recommended to measure where the listener(s) will be. :D This will also show you large the sweetspot is. Sweet like honey: Andre
