Hi,
I have a question regarding my studio.
A friend of mine which is a sound engineer from Germany, suggested me to place hanging panels in my studio ceiling. He said the there are some low mid frequencies that needs absorption.
How should I do it? He said that I should put a 1m x 2m or 1m x 1m thin plywood, and put insulation glued behind the panel, with the wood side facing the floor.
Any comments?

Ari,
I disagree with that advice, because insulation hidden behind plywood will do little. What you need is bass traps in those corners. --EthanHe said that I should put a 1m x 2m or 1m x 1m thin plywood, and put insulation glued behind the panel, with the wood side facing the floor.
sounds like he recommending a set of panel trap like thingies...
bolehnggak,
As Glenn said (Glenn gives just a description of the likely principle he had in mind),
But there is no way to judge this advise of your German friend without knowing more.
If you ask if concrete blocks are good, one can only say:
In themselves they are good, but depending on what you need them for, it can range between complete nonsense and the perfect solution.
It's possible that corner absorption can help more, but this is just guesswork.
How does your studio and its treatment looks now?
