I built and installed this in a restaurant this week. I figured I would post it here for those who would like to keep a look about a room that would not hurt resale value of a house. If you want more details send me an PM if for some reason I don't get a thread response email. :D This is a 8' x 8' Coffered ceiling with recessed sound panels for taming sound levels in a restaurant private party room. Basically, I made 2 x 4' x 8' sound panels of oc 703, upholstered them, butted them together, set rails on them to lag them to the ceiling then installed a coffered ceiling beams to make them appear like 4 4' boxes. It was a pain to install. Little did I know there was a steel "I" beam at the edge of one side that had to fasten to the ceiling, but I was able to get it up there! :X Here are some piccies.

^^^This is the sound panels joined together with the rail system that will hold them to the ceiling. The lags go through the wood, through the sound panel and lag to the ceiling joists. . . .

Wow! Looks Great!!! Nice job indeed!
Hi Glenn, It works pretty well I'm told. I stopped by the restaurant last night around 11:30pm to see how the party went in the room. The servers really noticed the difference. DH: Thanks. Your name is familiar. Are you a c-net Gear slutz frequenter? Cheers, Tom
