Hi Guys,
I have posted before asking for help with our condensation problem.
http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... ondesation
However, while stripping the building we have found sections to be rotting.
Therefore, we are knocking it down and starting again.
This gives us complete freedom of design, and would like your help with this.
We have seen and like the diagonal studio design here:
http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9090
So are thinking along these lines at the moment
The dimension of the room shall be 8L x 8W x 3H (metres)
We would like a nice sized control room, vocal booth, drum booth, and a live room.
If possible some kind of toilet/green room, for bands to make a drink or hang out (this probably isn’t possible due to the size)
As the room hasn’t been built yet, we can put doors anywhere, apart from one side, as it will be against the back of the garden
Thanks in advance, I’m sure any comments will be informative and as always excellent.
Much appreciated
Alex Howard

do you have a site plan with info on neighbors etc...?
Hi Glenn,
Thanks for a quick reply!
Unfortunately I don’t….
However; the garden is extremely long, so we are a long way from the neighbours
Behind that is a farmers field
Thanks
ok, thanks! you should check some of John's plans on the SAE site which may be an exact fit for your space including the bathroom and kitchen.
Excellent!
I'll check it out
Thanks Glenn
Apologies if this is a silly question...
Is this where you mean?

yes. its an excellent reference to get started on.
Hi,
I still really like the corner control room style, however I find it hard to picture the sizes when put into our space.
Is there a minimum size for control rooms, or live rooms...etc, and what kind of ratio/proportions would you suggest?
E.g. sacrifice a little control room space for more live room...?
Also, with the slot resonators, and frequency absorbers, do these need to be applied to every room, or is it a case of listening to the rooms and putting these in accordingly?
Thanks for all your help
Stop the Press!!!
The Plans have changed!
Will update when we know more
Sorry for this......
Hi,
After some discussions we’ve had to change the shape of the room to accommodate the shape of the garden
Here is an image of the garden, to show the distance from neighbours, as well as an approximation of the studios size and design.
Does this look ok?
This Is only a draft.
Thanks
Apologies,
These post has got rubbish!

I will start another one
Sorry... :(
