Hey gullfo (Glenn),
That diffusor design you did for jwl a while back looked real nice. I am wondering if that design is scalable? The math should stay the same but the frequency band it worked on would just get higher, right?
I'd love to build some that were not as deep as that one and thought that simply scaling it in Sketchup and then using the new dimensions would work. Any reason why not??
Also, its just a 2D diffusor that scatters left and right, not up and down, correct? I've attached the original file here for download.

in theory it should be proportional but there are definitely specific relationships between the well depths, the prime base, and the width of each of the wells. let me know if you need one to a specific size/freq range and I can compute it and sketch one pretty quickly.
Wouldn't the scale tool in Sketchup work? Using the diagonal axis so that all the dimensions would scale the same.... width/depth That was my thought. I'm not so interested in its affected frequency range as I am in its size, relative to my available wall space.
A formula should be able to give us the affected frequency range from the resulting dimensions. Also, wouldn't the vertical axis be adjustable regardless of the slot depth/width? We could make it as tall or as short as we wanted to....

oddly, scaling even if accurate dimensional doesn't necessarily preserve the actual desired rations on the QRD... if you want to resize for purposes of placing it in your design thats ok, but i wouldn't use the size values to build it since wells, dividers, etc will not be correct...
