This diffusor looks great, and may be needed for my low ceiling. Where can I find these things or have one made? Or how about DIY? This is a picture of a room in one of the studios at this site- there are a lot of other rooms that have them as well.... http://www.wsdg.com/ click on portfolio- have fun, get inspired!!

in such a small room a diffuser isn't going to work as wanted. better to stuff some absorption in the room. dunno the volume of your room... btw, the diffuser looks like custom/home made

As I understand it, a diffusor can make a small room sound bigger, help with low ceilings, etc: http://www.auralex.com/partscience/spacecoupler.asp
Although Auralex knows their "S" - I wouldn't take every word as gossple. After all, tehy're trying to sell product - and to everyone - big studios, and little guys at home. If I'm not mistaken, diffusion works much better with a bigger room. If your concerned about a low ceiling, to me - that means one thing: reflections making the room sound small. Absorption is your best bet. Remember, small rooms will never sound like big studios with great sounding rooms. Most people will absorb as much as they can and then add room ambience with reverbs. Just my $0.02
I am pretty sure you are completely misunderstanding what Auralex is saying. The Space Couplers are NOT diffusers, but are used to *couple* two spaces together. When they are used as ceiling mount devices, they are joining the lower space in the room to another space above the dropped ceiling. They are also used between rooms. Read the site again. EDIT: BUT, they do also make diffusers in this series, called the "SPACE ARRAY".
But I have to admit; esthetically diffusers are great things
Dan, Great find! Thanks! doublehelix, Yes, I was referring to the space array. Thanks for looking out for me.
btw. About diffs not being efficient in small spaces: I was just looking into the diffuser chapter in Everest's MHoA and was surprised reading (something like) "diffusers are especially usefull in small vccal rooms" (and he repeats it later). Now I'm confused... :?
