i just have a quick question. my room IS going on top of a garage now. not as an addition to the house. some of you have really helped me with a design based on the addition to the house. what happens when it now goes on top of the garage is there is a 12/12 pitch roof now with hip walls and then an angle in the ceiling. i knwo i should probably face the desk length wise in the room but i would like to face it against the wall so i can see out the front window and see who is coming up the driveway etc.
that being said the room is roughly 22x20 now and i can't describe what i am talking about so here is a pic looking down the length of the room. my question is how to treat a celing with these angles cut into it that folow the rafters? if you were facing a wall and not length wise?
thanks for this, sorry for the bad pic to
but it gives yo uan idea of what i am up against now
my Room Build changed some

the front wall would be good with the height and front angle, the ceiling and back-top wall (as well as the usual cadre of treatments) would need some absorption to cut the reflections.
Hey Glenn!
glad you are here and sorry things changed, we couldn't swing the normal room and needed a garage so combining the 2 cut the costs to where we could do the project
i was really worried about the weird angles and facing the way i wanted to. i was worried the reflections and stuff from the angle behind me would be horrible and not treatable.
that being said, to treat those angles do i need to hang the treatment in the angle part? or how do you figure out where you would need and what you would need to treat this?
thanks
tim
depends on how big the angled wall is - one option if you have the ceiling height is to put the clouds down far enough to handle all of the absorption needs.
