Hi , I'am a newbies in acoustic, maybe somebody ask you this question. My question is: Can we use 2 layers of 703 with 2 inches tickness together to do the same job of one layer of 4 inches of 703 or 705? Thank's in advance for these informations and have a nice day! Boby
Yes, and you don't even need to glue them together. But if the panels have a paper or foil facing, remove it from one of the panels. Paper or foil between two layers, or on both sides of a panel, is best avoided. --Ethan
Hi M. Winer, Thank's for anwser my question so fast! So, if i understand well, if i use 3 layer of 2 inches of 703 with no foil together, so i can use as a corner bass trap if i use the right way. Thank's for the answer. Boby
Yes, Exactly. Or for even more bass absorption you can cut the pieces into 2 ft triangles and stack them in the corner from floor to ceiling and build a screen in front.
Thank you again M. Winer, After using the room mode calculator for my listen room, the answer is 31hz, so this type of bass trap work at this frequency? The size of the room is: Length = 18'-2" Width = 10'-9" Hight = 7'-4" Thank's again for those informations Boby

31 Hz is pretty low to expect much from this type of trap. But that's not your worst problem in a room that size. The more important bass frequencies to trap in rooms like yours are above 60 Hz. Plus, a mode calculator program is not meant to determine what frequencies need attention. You'd really need to measure the response for that. But you don't need to do that either. Just make as many traps as you can manage and it will help a lot. --Ethan
