Please see my thread in studio design, topic
for details of my proposed project. :) This concerns my low voltage cabling (AC lines will be coming in from above and will likely be through the walls.)I plan to keep my mic, line level and headphone (amped) cables in separate channels as well as the speaker runs. Plese excuse me if this has been addressed elsewhere but I couldn't seem to find the subject addressed this way in other posts. Referrals welcome :) ! My dilemma is that I would prefer to poke as few holes as possible through my double walls, especially considering my recent choice to go with isolated slabs for my rooms. I want to keep isolation as high as possible and not waste money and time building isolated slabs and then build in liabilites that could now or later compromise the system isolation. Pull through pipes worry me as I am not sure what future expansion or technology changes may impact the the appropriateness of these (like trying to pull through optical cables and who knows what the future holds!). Trenches worry me because of the potential for rattle from high db low frequencies, though I assume I could design covers that screw down??? but what about flanking ( I presume I could design in trench gaps at the room divides and fill with rock wool or such) and possible resonances from the trenches themselves??? I would need wall plates or floor boxes either way and I am thinking about either center of the floor boxes or perhaps a podium kind of arrangement firmly attached to the wall so I can leave the walls intact now and in the future and use the less expensive and easily expandable wall plates? All thoughts are very welcome :D ! Thanks, jpI'm stuck on Sepmeyer and Louden! I need help!
