Hi All... I have a solid core door that I have taken the hardware (knob, dead bolt, eye hole etc.) off and was wondering what would be good to fill the holes prior to putting on the face plate and pull handle. I was thinking about automotive bondo, but have never used it. Is there something better and/or easier to fill the cavities? thanks...jam
i would use cut timber to fit any big holes. and any 2 part wood filler. its easy to mix golf ball size of filler to pea size of hardener mix together. goes hard in about 10 mins. then sand smooth. better to give it a couple of fills.

So you are saying just cut another piece of wood, (an old door etc), into circles of the correct size and glue them in? Thanks... jam
yep might be easier to cut the hole in the door square then fit a piece of timber that is the same size. then fill with 2 part wood filler.
