Hi, Ive been registered on this forum for a long time but didn't have much time to participate lately due to my studio build commitment. Well, it's all done now and I just wanted to say thanks to this great forum, its founders and members whom I found very helpful along the way of my studio construction. I've got a thank-you / show off  thread at studiotips as wall and if anyone wants to look at pics or ask questions please do so, I'll do my best to answer any curiosities and questions. it can be found here http://forum.studiotips.com/viewtopic.php?t=3107 Thanks everyone again. cheers
Gorgeous work, Sen. Well done!
Very nice. And, you are in my home town. Good luck with your recording. sja
Hi, thanks for looking and the comments guys! Good to see fellow Melbournians around :) cheers
Hi Sen, Yeah, not bad. OK, Amazing! Thanks for ur post; one thing, if it hasn't been covered elsewhere, is there a space between the two window "sill" frame pieces (someone please tell me the correct name for those!) or am I seeing a possible "hard connection" between the two walls? You mentioned that your windows didn't perform quite as well as expected? Please tell me to butt out, I can take it :D And hope you will add some more pics too. I think I'm gonna go back now for another look, hehe Geoff

Hi square pants, The gap between the two sills is 8-10mm all around (thanks to mmy uneven plaining of timber   ), but anyway the gap is filled with permanently flexible acoustically rated sealent. So yeah...no hard connection between the sills. (edit) oh yeah and the windows performance I was reffering to is because of the thickness of the glass. When you have monitors with such powerfull bottom end as soffited Genelecs 1037b you're bound to be hearing stuff in the LR as well, unles you go for something like 11 cm glass that was used at Galaxy.  Thanks for looking cheers
Square pants, I've managed to dig out another photo of the window frames. This one will more clearly show the gap.

Hi Sen, Many thanks for your excellent explanation. Yes, those monitors are beastly! I have yet to shop for glass for my windows, but will probably go for similar. They really used 11cm? That would break my walls, and cost more than my entire studio! Thanks again, Geoff
