Good day to y´all...
I just finished raising my vocal / isolation-booth and now all I´ve got to do is put some treatment on the floor, walls and ceiling...
(I´m looking for a dead sounding room and I´ve made the booth with very thick and well isolated walls so it shouldn´t leak much noise to the outside.)
I was thinking of putting thick carpet on the floor and eggcrate foam on the walls and ceiling - would that be ok, or will I encounter some problems with that? :?
Is it essential to eliminate all 90° corners?
Booth dimensions:
width = 1.25 meters
length = 1.97 meters
height = 2.05 meters
window = 1.00 x 0.55 meters
Thanks for any and all your help!! :D
What to put on the walls inside my vocal/iso booth??

If you want dead, you want absorption. You can use some kinds of foam, Auralex is good. Be warned though that there are many kinds of foam that don't do much, insist on seeing absorption specs before you buy, though even that isn't a guarantee because some companies are known to make these up.
Proven materials are rigid fiberglass, rockwool, and acoustic cotton.
If it were me, I would probably put absorption on one (maybe two) walls, and put slot resonators on the other walls that aim reflections toward the absorptive wall.
greetings and welcome to the forum.

a quick answer to your question would be yes, HOWEVER, carpet and eggcrates are not designed for acoustical absorption. They will be very limited in how much and of what frequency range they absorb at. (Not to mention pose as a potential fire hazzard).
As you begin to read through some of this forum, you will see that many people use fiberglass insulation, rockwool, compressed fiberglass insulation or a combination of all of the above for acoustics control.
Thats the quick answer to potentially years of research and reading here. Please spend the time to read through some excellent build and design posts.

Alrighty - thanks!
I did put rockwool, on the inside of the wall and then wood-planks over that, but I don´t want to just leave the walls empty on the outside...
I´ve been reading the DIY posts on this forum and will continue to do so.
Einar, I'd do this.
cheers

Ok looks good... but forgive my ignorance; what is a slot resonator?
definitely read up on the SAE site, and do a search on this site. plenty of information on it... basically its a type of Helmholtz resonator...
