sorry but i'm not as skilled as you using graphic design softwares, so here is a rough plan of my room as i intend to do.
http://communicator.discoremoto.alice.it/filemanager/vedi.do?key=%2Froom.JPG
the room dimensions are 4,20 x 3,15 meters and i'm lowering the ceiling right now.
What do you think about?
Under the window there is also a nook where stands the heater which i don't use, so i mean to remove the heater and doing something in the space which is about 100x80x20 millimeters, maybe another slot resonator? Any advice is welcomed!
Thank you all, Omar

why are you lowering the ceiling? also there is an error message about the image not being available:

hi thank you for the reply!
i'm lowering the ceiling to make it absorbent using rockwool, 350 millimeters rigid fiberglass and plaster.
sorry for the image but did not know about the attachment function until now, however here it is in all its ugliness.
the image is not in scale.
looks like a reasonable plan. good luck!
thank you but, any good advice?
How high is the ceiling?
it is 2.70 meters (8,85 ft) but it's going to be 2.50 (8.20 ft) after lowering it
not really, its a pretty concise design. you should just remember to add a cloud absorber over the mix position and make the make the rear wall mostly absorbant.
if i was going to change anything i would make the angled side walls shorter (front-to-back) and have them join the existing wall just past the mix position so you could increase the angle of them a bit (leave the front depth the same), then treat the back-side walls with a couple of absorbers to cut any flutter echo. this would give you more space on the back end of the room and increase the angle of the side walls to help create a reflection-free zone.
following your suggestments i've just designed a new plan of the room,
i added some bass traps at each side of the long walls, i would build them in different ways to achieve the most broadband absorption i could. Obviously the plan is not in scale, no measurement was done and i will have to face with the small room space, but this is just the starting idea. After the ceiling i'll start trace the new room shape on the floor and see if i can deal with it. Again, any idea is welcomed!
yes, this may be more effective and reduce the amount of construction. you might even find using John's wall units could simplify things even more... http://www.johnlsayers.com/HR/index1.htm
hi gullfo!
finally the ceiling was done, i can't hear any flutter echoes just clapping my hands.
Now it's time for the rear wall, i'm using the material with the best broadband absorbent coefficent i could find, so here i have some questions:
- do i leave the sealed cavity empty or fit rockwool inside?
- once the material is applied can i leave it ''as is'' or should i cover it?
is there really something i should ''be aware of'' before start building it?
Thank you all who can help me!
