I currently live in rented accomodation with neighbours either side of my room so i am considering building my own isolation booth for recording in. I'd like to be able to have something i could relatively easily re asemble when its time to move on so it has to be portable. The dimentions i had in mind would be: 6' W, 6' L, 7' H I've seen the Auralex booths but they are way out of my price budget in fact i'd really like to keep the cost from exceeding 3 figures. If i get something that would provide 40db's or more of STL then i think i'd be happy. I'm thinking that 3 layers would be needed for this plus some form of wall patch. With all these considerations in mind, especially the portability, does anyone have any ideas as to what design, materials & cost i would be looking at? Much appreciated, Jules Poston

there have been a number of discussions here and on homrecordingbbs.com regarding portable vox booths. generally speaking, high isolation, good size, and portability are tricky. and expensive.
