Can anyone point me to a good post on what to do about recess (can) lights. Cloud is not an option. Either some fix for can lights or track lighting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I was originally going to go with light cans as well, but was talked out of it by the experts since they are sound leakage disasters! I went instead with surface-mount lights that will keep the sound leakage in the room (a lot of track lighting). I have seen folks that have built "sound-proof" air-tight wooden boxes around the light cans, and covered them with drywall to keep sound from leaking, but that is a LOT of work, and there was some concern about over heating. I began to realize that anytime you poke a hole through your drywall, you are creating a hole to let sound leak out, and I started modifying my plans accordingly.
