Hello Forumers,
I know I am way over my head being on this site, but hopefully I can appeal to your generosity and glean some information from you.
I currently run an audio engineering program at a university in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and we will begin building a recording studio on campus later this year (this is our first time doing so). I have a meeting next week with the university construction manager and an architect, and I feel like I should also bring some sort of studio design consultant. Is this what usually takes place?
Having never designed a studio before, I am unsure of how to proceed--do I simply hire a studio design consultant for the few hours that he/she will be needed? What is the normal procedure? And even more specifically, does anybody on this forum know of a good studio design consultant in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?
I appreciate any help you all can give, because I clearly need it.

Starspeedr,
I wish I could be of more help.
I had to study long and hard and design mine myself, with the help of the folks here.
It turned out excellent.
Mine is about 900 sq/ft.
How big of a studio do you think you will be getting built?
Tom
There is one in your backyard of world-class credentials: Russ Berger Design Group ( http://www.rbdg.com/home/index.php ). I would imagine Russ or one of his associates could help you in your process without breaking the bank. Russ Berger is a great designer for sure.
Thank you all so much for the help. Russ Berger certainly is amazing, but a little out of our price range. We went with Mark Genfan of Acoustic Spaces and thus far have been very pleased.
