Do I "NEED" to go with 703? Or can I get away with John's Manville?

Brad, BAsic rule of thumb is that you will get equal performance with pretty much any of the rigid fiberglass made by any company if they are the same density - for exaclt variations on the starting points (assuming that the materials will follow the curve) check out Bob Golds excellent site on the reported values for pretty much all of the materials available.
