Bass Traps: Which Type Is The Best

I read the DIY stickies on bass traps. My room is 7-10" high, 11'x11'. I was thinking about buying enough 2'x4' panels to build 4 super-chunk bass traps. Is this the best route to take? Are the "super-chunk" bass traps better than slot-resonators, or caddy-corner panels? Thanks.

As long they aren't all measured there is no way to answer this for sure. From the DIY solutions the chunks are very good AND known by measurement. Comparisons without measurements are uncertain.
Agreed, there is no way to say what is "best" without context, not to mention measurement. How is your room set up? Where are your monitors and your listening position? How is sound travelling through your room? With an 11x11 room you will definitely need some good bass absorption, your nodes on 2 of the 3 dimensions are the same and will be that much stronger. I'd say superchunks in all corners would be a very good start...
The traps are 24" across the face. 2'x4' panels cut into 8 triangles. My monitors are ear level, arranged in an equalateral triangle. They are 38% from the wall (thanks Ethan from Real Traps!) I'll be putting bass traps (floor to ceiling) in all corners. Each side wall will have 2 (2'x4' - 2" thick) panels. Each wall will also have an additional panel (horizintally centered) in the corner where the ceiling meets the wall. The rear wall will have a 4'x4' difussor. Thanks for all the help - much appreciated!
Sounds like you have the basics covered. At the very least, it's a great start, and it may get you where you want to go. Put all that up and see where you are. I'm guessing it will sound a lot better. One point of clarification: my understanding is that the mix position should be 38% back from the wall, not the monitors themselves. Is that how you have it set up?

Yup, you're correct. I am sitting at 38%.
Hello can any body tell as why or when to install hangers? Why or when to install membrane traps? Is it matter of taste? What makes the difference? are there any link where to read about that? Thanks Gustavo

I don't see such improvement with pourous absorbers in my home measurements...but most important I don't ear it... Probaly I'm not good interpreting the graphics jet , but I do know that adding porous absorbers change everything except the sound of my Gretsch 22x22 cannon bass drum with Evans emad drum head! page 2 and 3 in my post ... http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... 3&start=30
