Alright guys i have an attached garage And im looking to get it redone and im not sure how we are goona have it laid out........I've contacted a proffesional local carpenter to help me do this correctly cause i just have no knowledge in this field......I had the Guy Take the Measurments of the room and he did a sketch out and i recreated it in Adobe and im attaching it to this post.....i tried to re-create it in Sketch up but im lost with that program.
Im Looking for just a Control Room(for mixing , Vocal booth , and maybe a little room for storage or a bigger closet....I Will not be recording Live drums so no need for a big live room.....not like i have the room anyways.....

You'll probably get more of a response by doing so and this will really come in handy two or three posts down the road. It's also part of the forum guidelines. Thanks! Also, what is your ceiling height? Hey Josh!
Did you ask the carpenter if he has any? As a working carpenter myself, I am coming to a more clear understanding all the time how every little thing I do can affect the overall performance of what I am building. The clarity stems from the generosity of the people involved in these forums. What does that mean? IF your carpenter says something like "naw, we can do it this way and it will be fine" and that goes against what the tried and tireless here have suggested, you should get a less experienced carpenter:) One more open to suggestion. Take care,I've contacted a proffesional local carpenter to help me do this correctly cause i just have no knowledge in this field.
hey hows it goin
the carpenter has plenty of ideas, he just has never done anything audio....He is great at what he does but we are just looking for some qualified ideas......I live in Kenton,Ohio there isnt a music store in 50 miles......its not a happening place
the carpenter is willing to do whatever , i told him about this forum and he went to it and is amazed how much detal ppl put in the pictures and everything....so i think i got him hooked because he is a fellow musician also........so he is open to all suggestions
i just need to know how i can put a Control Room to mix in, a vocal booth to do vocals and record a guitar cab also if needed....and a room for storage like a large closet .....I mean i have some what of an idea of how i want it....but just want a few ideas on how someone else would see it.....then i can make my judgements from there............thanks for all the help

Aloha,
Thanks for editing your profile!
In Rod Gervais’ book “Build it Like the Pros,” http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5670 he points out both L.W.Sepmeyer’s & M.M. Louden’s formulas most widely used in professional studios worldwide. He also notes that the orders listed are (top to bottom) the first to third best ratios in both cases.
L.W. Sepmeyer
Height Width Length
1.00 1.14 1.39 10’ x 11’4” x 13’9”
1.00 1.28 1.54
1.00 1.60 2.33
M.M. Louden
Height Width Length
1.00 1.40 1.90
1.00 1.30 1.90
1.00 1.50 2.10
• Control Room
• Vocal booth
• Storage
Perhaps something like this, then?
