Hello guys... I am just curious as to how much you guy's studios are costing to build. I am in lease limbo right now, waiting for my new lease to be negotiated.
I haven't got too far on my design yet... But, the cost is not looking pretty :(
It's looking to be in the neighborhood of $250,000-$300,000  for my 2000sq ft studio. And that's not including design work. So it's roughly $150/ft plus somewhere between $15-$50 more for design work.
Am I missing something here?
Albeit, I am not doing any of the work myself... I can't put a chair together without trouble... So, labor is a pretty intensive part of the equation.
I am very curious to know what you guys are paying. Where you are cutting corners. Where you are saving money, etc...
Your insight will be much appreciated!

I would (imho) call John. if you have that kind of budget you might want to discuss with him some ideas on where you can do things best and see if you can reduce the budget and have something left over for that new SSL/NEve/API console :-)
I built my own about 1000sq/ft (not suggesting this) and the material costs(with some outsourcing of labor) were about $40 sq/ft
