Hello, everybody! I'm about to build my studio and, as most people, I know nothing about acoustics... It's great to have such a wonderfull site to clear our mind - Thanks John !! I've been looking the plans here and made mine based on the corner plan(SAE): And I'd like to know: -The angles in the Control Room basic plan (SAE) are a little bit diffent of the corner plan. Is that right? Shouldn't the monitor angle always be 30 degrees, in any cases? -The place is ground, concrete floor . Do I need a floated floor to increase sound proofing ? -My plan is somehow different from the original corner plan. Do you think it's going to work? Are there any sugestions? Well, thank you for your HELP. Bye!!

decio64 - yes you are heading in the right direction. I doubt you would need to float the floor. The problem I see is that you have to go through the studio to get to the control room which practically is a pain in the A. ;) I'd flip it like this cheers john

Hello, John! Thank you, very much, for such a prompt answer! Well your idea would be great, if there weren't those structural columns pointed by the arrows. But we can fix it by placing a sliding door in the control room, going out to the yard, where will be the restroom. I think it's a simple, cheap solution. I'm very glad to know that the plan can work. Could I just split the floor for the different rooms? Is it bettet than nothing? What about the ceiling. Must all the rooms have an inclinated Ceiling? In what directions? ( The place height is 2,6 meters). Thank you, again! Cheers Décio

Ah - I didn't see those columns. Adding the sliders to the yard puts reflective glass in a bad position relative to your listening position unfortunately. I hadn't noticed that window before. What are the dimensions of the main room and the exact position of those damn posts?? Any chance of a more detailed plan with measurements??
Hi, John, There's a problem: the house is mine, but it's rented. I'll have it back in 2 months, maybe. I used to live there ( 15 years ago... ) So, I'm working just with my memory and it's not enough for a detailed plan. When I get the house back , I'll be able to make it, including other views and I'll send it to you. I'm considering the possibility of getting your professional work. Just tired of those "eggy"studios...Once again, what a nice job you've been doing, congratulations! I'll be in touch , Cheers Décio
