Hi Gang I am new boy to this forum so be gentle... I am about to convert a domestic garage into a studio the space I have is 15 foot 5 by 16 foot. A couple of windows to one side a roller door that could do with staying I was thinking of putting a double slidding door behind for eay access for bands etc. Any body know of a simlar build. My plan is for enough room for a smalish live room enough for a 4 piece band to reherse/record and control room and if possible a vocal booth. I was thinking of putting the control room in a corner. I know its a lot but I do not have a large eevn medium size consloe as I run Nuendo. I have a fair bit of experience of studio design but I am wanting to sound out ideas and the like I wil of course take photos n the like as we progress. Builders n the like are no problem and I am capable of doing all the wirring
Aloha and welcome to the forum, Congrats on your studio build! A few questions for you if I may, - How tall are your ceilings? - Is it possible to post a floorplan of your proposal to get a better understanding of your description? (hand drawn with accurate measurements of doors, windows, etc is fine) Thanks! Looking forward to your build! Aloha 8)
As we have not yet got the new House I have not got the room height they are about 8 foot ish I will measure up next time I am round there. I will pop up some photos as soon as I get them the studio is to go in a garage which is part of an extension on the side of a house. cheers for the speedy response....
Looks like the property that we indend to get is ours subject to conteact. I am now spending my time getting gened up on allthings sketch up and airconditioning. Mr Gervais's book rocks a big one money well spent... Do not underestemate this book.
